London, May 8 (ANI): Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke has given up his playboy lifestyle and has moved to Lilli Pilli, his first property investment.
It is close to his Shire-dwelling parents and sister Leanne, who is six months pregnant with her first child.
Clarke put his six million Australian dollar Bondi fishbowl apartment that he shared with one-time model girlfriend Lara Bingle on rent.
Helped by family and friends, the cricket captain spent the day moving his furniture into the three million dollars waterfront mansion in Lilli Pilli, he called home before buying his Bondi beach penthouse in 2009.
"It's a great day for it [moving]. The sun is shining, and I'm with my family and friends; it couldn't be better. It's going to be a busy couple of weeks packing my stuff up but I'm looking forward to getting back there," Clarke told The Sunday Telegraph.
After three years living the playboy lifestyle, Clarke is leaving it all behind to concentrate on family life, his Australian cricket captaincy and his relationship with girlfriend, Kyly Boldy, who is making the move with him.
With his flashy Bondi apartment rented out, Clarke will now share a Sutherland Shire postcode with fellow cricket stars Shane Watson, Ricky Ponting and Glenn McGrath.
The return to a more humble routine is expected to improve his image among cricket fans, many of whom criticised the former western suburbs boy's showy standard of living.
Clarke said the move was simply to be closer to family. "My sister's six months pregnant and I want to be close to her, and she lives in Cronulla. When I get the chance to get back home I want to be close to my niece or nephew," he said. (ANI)
